Description

LINSLEY BROTHERS 12G SIDE BY SIDE BOXLOCK EJECTOR SHOTGUN.

QUITE FRANKLY SIMPLY A STUNNING GUN and just about BRAND NEW.

28” (710mm) Barrels with minimal use. Walls are minimum plus 35,000 everywhere with bores exactly how they began at .729”.

Basically about as close to brand new as you might hope to get. Fixed chokes at ¼ and either a loose Full or tight ¾. Standard English game Chambers at 2 ½” (65mm) and stamped up for 1 1/8 oz Nitro loads. Jointed with a slightly tapering Concave Rib, finished with a single brass front bead.

The Boxlock Ejector action was originally Colour Case Hardened and still retains at least 50% over the Light Hand Engraving. As things are the top lever is still off centre to the right. A feature found on most guns up to a certain amount of use. After which they ‘work in’ to the middle of the action tang. A Triple Bite Lock Up just adds to the quality of the gun and the Scallop Back yet another Quality feature.

Original and Full Length 15” (384mm) Highly Decorative English Walnut Stock featuring Classic Tear Drops to each face. Chequering is still in excellent condition. It is even present to the end of the butt stock to finish it off. Yet another High end feature which acts as an anti-slip area when mounting into the shoulder. This has a good Right Handed Cast but actually comes up VERY well for me.

Overall this guns tips scales at 6 Lbs & 7 oz (2.915 Kg) and a total length of 45” Dead (1143mm).

These guns have a GREAT following. I actually have one myself, the first gun I ever bought. The more I look at this there IS a distinct possibility this could end up in my own personal cabinet! JUST to keep the first one company. If I still had the time and opportunity for reasonable use this advert would not actually be here.

Reasonably local and VERY PRETTY Gun from one of THE BEST none London makers available.

As said, a TRULY EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION SHOTGUN. From one of the BEST ENGLISH GUN MAKERS AND who are STILL in business today. Check out the price of a new gun like this if you dare.

THE STEEL SHOT DEBACLE?

FIRST THING:  Given lead is SO dangerous, can we ask about getting every lead water main replaced? After all, ANYONE with one of those still supplying water has zero choice. LETS PUT THAT QUESTION TO HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE AS WELL AS THE GOVERNMENT.
That is every child’s grazed knee washed out with lead infested water (direct into their blood stream. Every glass of juice. Every cup of tea or coffee, Vegetables washed and cooked in the stuff. ALL that DELICIOUS Gravy. Cloths washed in it. Then we bath in the sodding lead infested stuff!
HOW DO THEY DEFEND THIS FACT?
THEN THERE ARE more and more Non-Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern-day shooting. APPARENTLY so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters? How is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?
Anyway, take a look for yourself:
NOW, TRY and help speed up availability. I WILL suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ask whoever we buy from WHY they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.
YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through, but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons.                                                     RING for an update and keep checking the web site.
