A 12g Over and Under Shotgun retailed through Simsons of Suhl in Germany. These are basically a Merkel produced shotgun retailed in Eastern Germany. SUPERB quality whatever way you look at them. They always seem handle extremely well with excellent balance.
This comes with fixed choke 27 1/2″ (700mm) barrels. None selective, firing the bottom barrel on the front trigger at Full choke. The top is fixed at Extra Full. A SUPERB gun for any game shooting where the birds are always high and very challenging.
Also very handy for anyone who also shoots a Side by Side and finds it difficult to swap between an Over and Under with a single trigger. (Like ME). I go back to a S/S and end up trying to straighten out the front trigger for the second shot !
A 13 3/4″ 348mm) Well Figured stock with a raised cheek piece. It has more than average drop at present but very little cast. It may well work for a left handed shot too.
‘ Continental ‘ style sling swivels fitted and the action finished with nice ‘ reserved ‘ hand cut Scroll engraving which carries on to the barrel chambers area. Chequering is still reasonably crisp too, the gun has not had that much use with quite a stiff action still.
Always easy enough to open chokes out too if needed….. a LOT easier than trying work the other way and close them up !
