RARE and MUCH SOUGHT-AFTER Browning ‘Waterfowl’ 12g Over and Under Shotgun.
28” (710mm) Barrels set to a Long Stock / Trigger Pull, currently set at 14 5/8” (370mm). A ¼” (6mm) Ventilated Game Gun Sight Rib with Single Matching Silver finished Front Bead. They bring in an Overall length of 45 ¼” (1150mm), tipping scales at 7 lb 11 oz (3.49 Kg). Browning’s Invector Plus Multi Chokes compatible and 3” (75mm) MAGNUM Chambers. (A Rare feature on an older Browning). The two currently fitted with 3 and 4 designation slots to the front. A Brass Choke Gauge suggesting restrictions of Cylinder and Imp (1/4). I can easily order in additional pieces to make up a complete set if desired. (Yes, to pay for on top of the gun)!
A Bright Finished Action featuring Flighting Canada Geese in a Naturalistic setting to the Left. A similar background with Mallard dropping in to the Right. The Bottom mainly Plain along with ‘SPECIAL WATERFOWL’. The Gold Wash to the Trigger remains circa 80+% Original. ALWAYS an EASY check to get an idea of how much work a gun like this has done to date. The Gold NEVER lasts long. Another easy ‘give away’ is the Top Lever position when the gun is closed. Notice this is still away to the Right. Again, something that soon ‘centres up’ after only minimal use. OK, a poorly fitted new / replacement spring can offer the same but pretty certain this is all original. The usual Top Tang Mounted Safety with Built in Barrel Selector too.
All in all, a VERY NICE and relatively unusual Gun from this Iconic and Best known of Manufacturers.
THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?
Anyway, take a look for yourself:

NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.
YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons.
