Classic and ALWAYS well thought of Model 85 S WALNUT Sako Bolt Action Rifle in .243 Winchester. Thankfully back to the standard bolt and no catastrophic locking version. As such zero fear of losing or forgetting the key!
22 1/4″ (565mm) Barrel with a 14 x 1mm Spigot Thread muzzle. All ready for a suitable sound moderator. Stock pull measures to 13 7/8″ (353mm) and brings in an overall length of 42 1/8″ (1070mm). The bare rifle as showing weighs in at a straight 7 ½ Lb (3.4 Kg).
The Action features the usual Factory Machined Double Dovetail Scope Rail. This does require suitably matching rings in whatever size required for scope choice. Cocking Indicator to the back of the bolt too and A standard 5 (?) Round Capacity Detachable Full Metal Magazine.
A HIGHLY Decorative Walnut Stock but this time around could actually benefit if lighter. Currently pretty dark and actually half hiding some EXCELLENT Wavey Grain Pattern, Contrast and Highlights. They can still be seen but a re-finish and lighten and this woodwork could SERIOUSLY POP!
A few light signs of use. Mainly to the base of the detachable magazine. I suspect that has been held in hand a lot more than clicked into the well. Also, by a previous owner with ‘metal corrosive’ hands. Basically, some people can pick up touch metal and leave no harmful residue. Others can turn metalwork rusty in a few hours. It’s simply down to their skin make up. Anyway, I suspect that is why the magazine base is SLIGHTLY less coloured / finished than the trigger and mag housing metal. In reality it is hardly worth mention!
After that: IT’S A SAKO…So just about ‘bomb proof’.
