Model 1200 Deluxe 7×64 Calibre Bolt Action Rifle from Parker Hale and CERTAINLY yet another candidate for the Sleeper Category.
23 5/8” (600mm) Barrel retaining the original open / iron sights set to a 14” (355mm) Pull Walnut Stock. At 44 5/8” overall length it tips the scales at 7 lbs 5 oz (3.319 Kg).
MINIMAL sign or evidence of much use from top to bottom and all still in near original condition. The only thing to detail is a small number of even smaller light blemishes to the stock original finish. Metal work is near showroom condition. Even the Fully Adjustable Gold Washed Trigger retains circa 95% finish. Clear proof of little use so far. This also has a plain Black finished Hinged Magazine Floor Plate. Usually they have an embossed pattern featuring a Rams Head. However this is a long action so these had plain pieces.
Fox / Skip cut chequering is a feature I always think sets a stock off well. As does the Rosewood
Forend Tip and Pistol Grip Cap. The white spacer is apparently considered as modern as a traditional prawn cocktail starter. I don’t care. I still like both. Roll over raised cheek piece and a TRUE Classic English Sporting Rifle. Grain pattern is Very Reasonably pretty on what is a light coloured Walnut. The calibre is just as classic, Certainly on mainland Europe if not so well known here in the UK. Over there more commonly referred to as 7mm Brenneke. A round originally specifically designed for Wild Boar and Driven Game shooting.
