Description
FOR SALE, PARKER HALE .22-250 BOLT ACTION MODEL 1100 SPORTING RIFLE.
A clean enough example .22-250 Model 1100 Bolt Action Rifle from the iconic British maker, Parker Hale. Coming from a period when UK engineering was the envy of the world. Their basic Model 1100 option so no Rosewood forend tips or grip cap etc. However, you DO still get the Embossed Hinged Floor Plate magazine.
There are a few light marks to the stock but the ‘business end’ of the rifle is in great condition inside and out. At present the barrel is 23 ½” (600mm) with the original open sights removed and lost. Stock is a 13 3/4” (350mm) pull and overall the rifle finishes at 44 ½” (1130mm). Weighing in at 7lbs 4oz (3.29Kg).
A GREAT SMALL BORE .22 CENTER-FIRE ROUND I used myself for many years. It never let me down as long as I did my part!
A few years ago now I put together a .243 complete package for a Gamekeeper with a similar Parker Hale. In fact, that looked in WAY poorer condition. The budget was on the floor but the spec. required no more than a 4 inch group. That at only 50 yards too! He basically had a herd of marauding Fallow wrecking his game bird pens. They were following up rides as he fed the birds. Out a bucket or sack of grain down and they would have their heads into it! He wanted nothing more than to simply ‘hit’ the biggest one (or three). THAT rifle produced a Sub 1/2″ / MOA at 108 yards. Most would have used it for a pole to grow beans up! Certainly WAY beyond the condition of this in the wrong direction. Assuming even halfway as accurate, NO fox (or legal deer species) is safe. Just as long as you do your part on the trigger.
These older Parker Hale Rifles are generally superbly accurate. Things do not tend to ‘live’ long if they do not perform. The Model 1100 Parker Hale were simply set into a more basic / standard quality Walnut stock. 1200’s had a higher grade along with Rosewood tip and grip caps. The .22-250 calibre is a fast approaching 100 years old and a British CLASSIC calibre.
