Model 1200 Deluxe Parker Hale Bolt Action Rifle in the UK favourite of .243 Winchester. Some more than decent Grain Pattern with light Crossing Tiger Stripe. Checkering is still pretty clean and well defined with 95% of the Original Gold was to the Trigger evident. Two CLEAR checks to indicate just how much use so far. As such, evidently not a lot. A third is the only light signs of wear and use to the Bolt Knob finish too. Metal work is all generally high 90% as well.
23 ½” (595mm) Original and still Open / Iron Sighted None Screw-Cut Barrel. 14” (355mm) Stock Trigger Pull. That combines for an Overall length of 44 ½” (1130mm) and Bare Weight of 7 Lb 4 ½ oz (3.302 Kg). Hinged Magazine Floor Plate with the usual PH Embossed Rams Head and Scroll Work decoration.
There IS unfortunately, one main ‘ding’ to the stock. The Right side and just forward of the 1” (25mm) Recoil pad toward the bottom. Other than that the usual Rosewood Grip Cap and For-end Tip with contrasting White Line Spacer. Somewhere in its life to date the Sling Studs have been upgraded to Stainless Steel.
I DID supply a Game Keeper with one of these rifles that, in reality, most would not grow beans up! However, the overall budget offered up given Threaded, A sound Moderator, Mounts and 8×56 scope left minimal choices. Test firing with 100gr Winchester produced a 3 round / 100 yard+ group that sat beneath a new 1p piece. The only thing showing was any one of the three lead arcs that fell outside. I.E. Actually, tighter than ½” / ½ MOA group. Not claiming this will do the same but it could be just as good. No reason why not and, like anything, rifles only hang around if they WORK.
This is a CHEAP entry point gun that could see anyone through a lifetime of shooting.
