Un-named Classic English Sporting style Bolt Action Rifle in .22-250 Calibre built on an Original Mauser 98 Action. I shot one myself for many years and found it a fantastic along with a somewhat devastating little round. This is a Very Clean and more than nice enough example. Ideal for anyone wanting something away from the modern-day options with that more traditional look and feel.
23 5/8″ (600mm) Barrel already screw cut at a standard 1/2″ x 20 UNF. Stock / Trigger Pull measures to 13 7/8″ (353mm) and combines for an overall length of 44 3/4″ (1137mm). Bare weight tips the scales at 7 Lb 5 oz (3.310Kg).
Traditional Flag Safety is obsolete / inoperative, the action now fitted with a standard side mounted option. This also features a light ‘Cresting Wave’ pattern Engraving just above the Stock line. …It IS annoying me as I know I have seen the same pattern before but cannot recall the maker. Memory is throwing up an older Browning from FN in Belgium. However, there are no visible markings anywhere so cannot confirm. Equally, it could have been re-barrelled many years ago so anyone’s guess. No clues on the butt plate either.
Raised Cheek Rest to the relatively plain but Strong Straight Grained Stock. Hinged Magazine Floor plate without so much as a mark and a Buffalo Horn Grip Cap. A nice little finishing touch. The action is also already pre-drilled and tapped, ready to take suitable scope mounts.
