MARLIN MODEL 336 UNDER LEVER CARBINE in 30-30 WIN.

Out of interest this is one of the very few UK DEER LEGAL calibres for this type of rifle. Bullet weights from 110 to 130 can exceed legal minimum velocities and muzzle energy required.

As such this offers something decidedly different as well as extremely versatile. IDEAL for the shooter who stalks but also enjoys gallery rifle / range shooting as well. Apart from the case ejection from the right hand side an underlever is completely ambidextrous too.

With a magazine capacity to surpass any bolt action it really does ‘open doors’. Anyone needing a fast and quick handling rifle with plenty of power and back up….. have a THINK!

Across that puddle (known as the Atlantic) this is still America’s favourite underlever calibre for taking deer and similar game. (Not that that is any massive consideration as far as the UK goes. However it should ‘speak for itself’ as to the effectiveness and capabilities etc.).

The serial number dates this back to a production year of 1971. The general condition means this rifle MUST go into my ‘Another Sleeper’ category. Approaching 50 years old and the exceptional condition, this is also a HIGHLY collectable but still usable rifle. Any use has obviously been absolutely minimal throughout its life so far. Nothing but the very slightest blemish to the wood or metal work. I’ve seen and even unpacked brand-new guns in worse condition than this!

A 20” Micro Grooved barrel sits into the flat topped, pre drilled / scope base ready, receiver. A scope is easily fitted. Side ejection stops any chance of a ‘snarl up’. With no spent case dropping back into the action  you see why Marlin rifles are everyone’s favourite underlever. This older version also comes with a straight grip, nicely figured 13 ½” pull Walnut stock. It even has the original makers butt plate. The not that common brass saddle ring attachment to the action just finishes everything off . Even the gold washed trigger shows little sign of much use!
