CZ 527 BRNO ARMS .22 HORNET BOLT ACTION RIFLE.

CLASSIC and never too many about these days .22 Hornet Bolt Action CZ Model 527 from Brno Arms. Almost full original spec. with 23 5/8” (600mm) None Screw Cut Barrel. 13 ¾” (350mm) Stock making a maximum length of 42” (1063mm) and bare weight at 6 Lbs 3 ½ oz. (2.82 Kg).

Guessing a bit of neglect / lack of care prior to arriving here. NOTHING stopping the rifle being used exactly as is for a basic WORKING Tool. However, the barrel blueing IS all but polished off forward of the missing rear open sight. Ill guess at some mild rust removal to try and tidy it up. Nothing following a home blueing kit instructions would not do a perfectly acceptable job of. The base to the detachable magazine is the same. However its ALL just ‘looks’. As said, there is NO reason from using this rifle  exactly as it is. Bore is still good and little doubt it will shoot as accurately as most pulling the trigger anyway.

Yes, never THAT many .22 Hornet Rifles about these days as SADLY most manufacturers no longer offer the calibre. A great shame as generally once people try it they wonder HOW they ever managed before. Minimal noise output and near zero recoil with SERIOUS down range capability. That is one reason I accepted taking it in.

Internals are, as detailed, nice enough too.

The MAIN factor is 100% the Woodwork / Stock. A SERIOUSLY Bonny Lighter than usual coloured example. A SERIOUSLY CRAZY degree of Vertical, Cross Grain Tiger Stripe Pattern along its entire length, both sides. From the forend tip right back through the raised cheek rest to the original Butt Plate. Each side equally as pretty as the other.

It’s a cheap enough rifle these days as metal finish condition is reflected. However with a little time and effort this will make a GREAT project gun. Especially when crops are at a height its getting impossible to shoot etc. 2 or 3 relatively short windows of dedicated work and this WILL, relatively easily, return to something Special. It has potential to be one of THE PRETTIEST examples of a ‘standard’ CZ Brno ever made!

Detachable 5 or 10 round magazines available to buy and a Single Fully Adjustable Match Grade Target Trigger.

This can be set up to use as a Hair Trigger too. But, if uncomfortable, they do simply adjust out and your left with a single trigger operation only. These triggers ARE well worth the effort of finding out exactly how to use etc. Just Never that popular option here in the UK.?????

People find their accuracy usually improves many times over as they gain in confidence. ALL you need to learn is how to engage the trigger to FIRE. Then how to disarm / return operation to its standard single trigger format.
