CF11 Action Heavy Target (CFT) / Varmint Barrel in .300 Winchester Magnum from BSA, Birmingham, England. This example set into a ‘standard’ Sporting Stock as opposed to the usual Beaver Tail Forend target versions.
24” (610mm) Barrel now Screw Cut to a Metric 15x1mm Spigot Thread. Includes the neat and matching profile thread cap protector. Pull is a straight 14” (355mm) to include the BSA branded Recoil Pad and brings in a 44 ½” (1130mm) O/A. Scales break at a solid 9 Lbs 6 oz (4.24 Kg) for the bare rifle so plenty of recoil absorption.
Generally VERY tidy throughout. Rosewood Tip to the Forend as well as the grip. Raised and Roll Over Cheek Piece and Fox or Skip Cut Chequering. Given production ceased in 1973 this IS realistically in IMMACULATE condition.
A Good Strong Straight Grain with only minimal blemishes to the original finish. Double Set Trigger that for some reason UK shooters shy away from. Silly really as the ONLY thing you need to do is learn how to put the system back to standard. That can be done by applying the safety and gently squeezing the main trigger. OR open the bolt and then squeeze the main trigger to release the ‘set’. Its NOT a difficult thing to do! The benefits are generally a vast improvement in accuracy. Especially on bigger recoil / heavier calibre rifles. The round is long gone down range before any recoil is even thought about so zero flinch or eye squinting.
The usual pop up cocking indicator to the rear of the bolt. Standard Hinged Floor Plate Magazine so impossible to lose too.
Also to bear in mind is the HEAVY / TARGET barrel. For YEARS no one has been producing anything other than standard weight sporting options. Today one or two are beginning to offer heavier options. Anything like this will generally be a specially commissioned re-barrel or brand new build.
