A RARE and SERIOUSLY COLLECTABLE Vintage BRNO Model VZ 24 Bolt Action .30-06 Rifle. This has been 100% Expertly Re-Finished and Refurbished as follows. THIS IS NOW VERY LIKELY IN BETTER CONDITION THAN WHEN ACTUALLY BRAND NEW!:
*Recknagel front and rear open / iron sights fitted. Rear sight regulated at 50 yards /meters, taller options for 150 y / m range with 165g partitions.
*Hand lapped rails and feed ramp for even smoother loading / bolt operation.
*The ENTIRE Action FULLY Glass Bedded along with the first part of barrel. Also including bottom metal.
*Re-Chequered from the original panels to the Full ‘Wrap Around’ Grip Area.
*All screws and small parts Nitre Blued finish.
*Original (and apparently) ‘STUPIDLY’ Accurate BRNO barrel.
*3 Position Safety.
*Trigger is now a CUSTOM MADE Huber Concepts. This can be either single or two stage and regulated with ball bearings underneath. About as SMOOTH a release as you will EVER manage. *All other metal work is Slow Rust Blued so with a little care will last decades.
*Stock Woodwork Completely re-finished with Best Quality Oil Finish.
23 5/8” (600mm) Barrel set to a stock pull of 13” (330mm). They combine for an Overall Length of 43 7/8” (1115mm) with scales showing 6 Lbs 10 oz (3.005 Kg) bare. Originally made in Czechoslovakia. The Barrel is Fully Proof Stamped with Calibre and Date of Manufacture (01) to the Left Side of Chamber. Also the front Action Ring. Then CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA. A. S. BRNO VZ 24 to the Magazine Side Wall. That with Thumb Cut Out to assist faster loading. Fixed Sling Point to the Barrel along with ERA Windage Adjustable Open / ‘V’ / Iron Sights. The Rear with White Alignment Highlights and Front a High Viz Red Bead. This comes with a matching additional Rear Sight calibrated to 150 range as detailed already.
Nitre Blue Finished Full Length Controlled Feed Mauser Style Extractor. Safety is mounted to the Bolt Shroud with pivoting on / off position. NOT the traditional Mauser Flag style so NO extra high scope mount position required. All Traditional Mauser ‘Double Screws’ to the Action finished to match the Extractor Claw in the DEEP Lustrous Blue. As is the Bolt Release Lever, Side Positioned Safety and Sling Stud points.
The Action pre-drilled and tapped, ready to accept Scope Bases and Mounts. All set up for Maximum Performance and Accuracy as FULLY Bedded.
I cannot, in reality, claim this to be a Genuine ‘Sleeper’ given the details above. Never the less it IS a STUNNING rifle that also apparently shoots exceptionally well. All but Individually Hand Built when Brand New too. As such ALWAYS Exceptional pieces and fit for ANY Collectors Gun Room.
Any of the scopes being an EXCELLENT choice for a rifle like this. ALL AMONGST THE BEST OF BEST QUALITY AVAILABLE as they have been and WILL ALWAYS REMAIN. Hopefully you have other guns that WOULD benefit from one!
