Given widely regarded as SOLID work horses for pest control they do tend to see serious amounts of use. For this to be as clean as it is it has been extremely well cared for all of these years.
Barrel detailed, as you would expect, BRNO Mod.1. Cal .22 Long Rifle along with proof date stamp. 22 ¾” (580mm) long threaded ½” x 20 Standard UNF ready for a sound moderator. Original Iron Sights with a fixed 50 yard /meter leaf and folding at 75 and 100. The only thing missing is the front sight bead shroud.
Action detailed with the ‘NOT BRITISH MADE’ stamp inside an oblong banner / box. Along with Matching Proof stamps and ZBROJOVKA BRNO. Made in Czechoslovakia with serial number to the right and ndrodni podnik below to the left.
Safety on these EARLY examples is positioned on the back of the bolt, pivoting horizontally to position.
ALSO TO NOTE: To drop the bolt out PUSH the trigger gently FORWARD. Later versions require the trigger pulling back.
Stock appears to be a Light coloured Maple Walnut with some Nice Dark Contrasting Stripes. Pull to the still in place Original Butt Plate measures 13 5/8” (346mm). Everything bringing in a bare weight at 5 Lbs 14 ½ oz (2.676 Kg). Overall length at 40 ¾” (1035mm).
As such only getting more collectable as time ticks relentlessly by. Especially when it is something you can use to its full potential. Knowing it only going to improve. Take basic and reasonable care of it and no reason why not still good 70 years from now.
