TOP of the range BRNO Model 571.1 BRNO SUPER Sidelock Over and Under Ejector shotgun. A TRUE Sidelock action on an over and under shotgun. This even has cocking indicators. Finished in black with scroll work featuring a flying Goose to the left with running Hair on the right. Crisp and still sharp Skip or Fox chequering just lifts the 14 3/8” (365mm) stock above a standard finish. The raised cheek piece with sling swivels also shows its European roots. That all said these types of guns do actually mount remarkably well. Why wouldn’t they? It’s just not what we are ‘fed’ here in the UK. The original butt plate is still intact too.
Barrels are fixed chokes at Full and Full, 2 ¾” (70mm) chambers and finish at 27 ½” (700mm) with a 3/8” (9mm) ventilated rib and double brass beads. The gun tips the scales at 7lbs 8oz (3.41Kg).
With the double trigger mechanism this could well suit someone who generally uses a traditional side by side and (like me) ends up trying to straighten the front trigger after using a single trigger gun for clays or anything else because they forget to drop back for the rear trigger / second barrel.
