Beretta Over and Under Model 685E 12g Fixed Choke Game Shotgun. 28” (710mm) Barrels with standard 2 ¾” (70mm) Chambers Choked at approx. ½ to the Bottom barrel and ¾ Top. It IS a Single Selective Trigger so easily swapped over to shoot your preferred barrel first. If you honestly think it will make ANY difference IT WONT. Yes, technically a dedicated Game gun with the usual ¼” (6mm) Ventilated Rib and only 7 Lbs 5 ½ oz (3.329 Kg). Finished with a single front brass sight bead. They DO also work equally as well as anything else on clays if fired at the right time and place. The main difference being Sporting and dedicated clay guns are generally slightly heavier to help with recoil.
Matt Silver Finished Action with Pietro Beretta detailed to each side ‘sandwiched’ between two light bands of engraving. The Model Number and Beretta Logo to the base. Currently fitted with an after-market Genuine Beretta ‘Gel-Tech’ Recoil pad to bring in a pull length of 14 5/8” (373mm) finishing at an overall 45 5/8” (1160mm).
A Strong Straight Grained Stock with some reasonable Colour Contrast and all Chequering still Very Clean. The rest of the gun is in the same great condition with a still TIGHT action as well. After that there is little else to detail other than the obvious and again state ‘It’s a BERETTA’.
I have to be straight. I see no overwhelming reason as to why they are amongst the most popular shotguns out there. However they ARE and never seem to hang about for any length of time.
