Description

AYA 10 BORE SIDE BY SIDE EJECTOR SHOTGUN.

Here’s a chance of a relatively BIG BOY 10 Bore Side by Side Boxlock Ejector Shotgun from AYA. With 32” (812mm) Barrels, 3 ½” (89mm) Chambers and Tight Full Chokes in both there is a lot of potential. A Solid Fine Cross Checked Semi raised Top Sighting Rib tapering from 7/16” to ¼” at the muzzle. (Approx. 10mm to 7mm) with a Single Brass Sight Bead. The Action still retaining 70 – 80% of its original Colour Case Hardening too.

As showing in the pictures the Strong Straight Grained Stock HAS been reduced. It currently measures to a trigger pull approx. 13 ¾” (350mm) Long. The Matching Woodwork reduction piece will add back approx. 5/8” (17 – 18mm) if required. Wide Beaver Tail Forend for Additional Grip etc. too. Chequering is Still Very Clean as well as Well Defined but not quite good enough to detail as New.

**** NO NOT STEEL SHOT PROOFED OR APPROVED. NO FLEUR de LEIGHS so still ‘old school’.

**** HOWEVER DO PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?

Anyway, take a look for yourself:

NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.

YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!

On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons.                                                     RING for an update and keep checking the web site.

Anyway, back to this. Given it’s a 10 Bore and likely load your own I am also happy to see about organising some shot IF its possible at the minute etc.

A couple of Very minor marks, mainly to the last 4-5 inches on one barrel. I would guess its slipped along a barbed wire fence or wall. The bores are not effected at all, purely cosmetics. Last detail to put down is the Articulated Front Trigger. Generally proves a GREAT help with recoil on your finger when taking the second shot. The gun weighs in at a Solid 9 lbs 4 oz (4.2 Kg).
