FULLY Adjustable Anschutz Match 54 Deluxe Target Rifle. The usual Heavy Weight 27” Barrel, complete with all three sight position Dovetails still in place. Stock Pull / Trigger length currently measures 12 7/8” (327mm). However, as their Deluxe option and easily seen, this is fully adjustable in just about any and every option possible. Height, Cant, Length, Rake, Twist, Angle. …. WHEREVER! Also still in place is the Equally Adjustable Butt Hook. More often than not removed, lost, forgotten about. The top ¼ or so of the butt will also pivot out to offer a ‘rest’ on the top of your shoulder.
Overall length is a straight 45” (1143mm) as currently set up and tips scales circa 13 Lb 1oz (5.92 Kg). That may be an ounce or two / few grammes out. My normal scales only run to 10 lb and for these types of rifles I usually drop the stock off. Weigh both and then add. However, this time around I tried a set of carcass scales that gave out a couple of different readings.
The Action with a full-length Standard Dovetail to each side of the loading / ejection port. Currently fitted with a dedicated original Anschutz Sight Raiser Block. Easily swapped out for a set of rings and a scope too. Depending on what discipline you want to shoot.
It IS also fitted to a Square / Flat Bottomed Aluminium Bedding Chassis. Matching / Corresponding base also set into the stock. Not entire sure when they did this particular set up as it is not something I have previously encountered. Somewhat surprising given the numbers of these great older rifles that I have sold over the years. Production Date Letters offer up ‘HK’ which means 1979!
For a rifle now fast approaching 50 years old this is STILL something of a CRACKER. Yes, a few blemishes, mainly to the woodwork. There generally ALWAYS IS given the manufacturer ALWAYS opt for a cheaper varnish finish. As such, if you even ‘LOOKING’ too hard at it can cause issue. However, a traditional stock oil finish takes longer so costs more.
Textured Grip areas to the Thumb-hole Stock which is also fitted with an Flush finished Extra Wide Accessory Rail to the Ventilated Forend. Strong Straight Grain through the grip too. It DOES also have a strengthening screw fitted.
Match Grade Fully Adjustable Trigger that I would say is Two Stage. However, that is currently all but adjusted out except for a tiny ‘take up’. The Pull Weight also pretty light so will need care and attention whilst you get used to it. That, or adjust to suite for yourself / preference.
The ONLY thing missing is the Palm Rest, although the fitment rail IS in place so a relatively easy fix.
