Ex-Royal Marines Biathlon Team Anschutz Match 54 .22 Rim-Fire Competition Target Rifle. This, the second of a Pair that came in quite a while ago. Both in need of the stocks working on and now, FINALLY done! I still have their original transport case with the old stickers and ‘RM’ details. First rifle to go gets the option of the case included too.
21 ½” (545mm) Semi-Heavy Weight Match Grade Target Barrel. Complete with its Original Flip Up / Down Muzzle and Element Holder Protector Plate. The rifle CAN still be fired with this in the upper / protective position as there is a dedicated hole in place. If preferred the entire unit can be removed by way of two grub screws.
Stock / Trigger Pull measures to a straight 14” (355mm) but is Adjustable. Current overall length as pictured comes to 40 ¼” (1022mm) and tips scales at 9 Lb 3 oz (4.166 Kg). The Small Butt Hook adding approx. 2 ½” (63mm).
As expected, a Fully Adjustable Match Grade Trigger. Micro Adjustment for Perfect length set up along with whatever weight and style of pull / release. This is currently set to approx. mid position. As such, circa ¼” (6mm) Travel Adjustment either way. That is in addition to the Length Adjustable Butt Plate too. However, that does require the usual Anschutz Stock Spacer pieces. OR simply make something to suit you personally and slide into place.
Matt Black finished Textured Grip areas to offer a firm, none slip grip and hold. Along with the aesthetics of a Great Contrast against the Lighter coloured Woodwork.
Action is also Factory Machined with a Standard Width Top Dovetail. Ready to take suitable mounts and whatever rifle scope of choice. OR a contemporary original Matching Dioptre Target Sight. (I WILL have suitable options for either choice readily available).
The Stock itself does have some Reasonable Grain Pattern along with a Nice Palm Swell Grip. Plus, Thumb Cut Out / Rest for an EASY hold and Perfect Trigger Finger Position. The usual Flush inlet Target Accessory inverted ‘T’ Rail to the For-end. Plus a secondary shorter version fitted to the Left side.
No, it is NOT like a modern-day version. However, neither is the price. Pretty SURE it WILL still shoot every bit as good as it ever did though. That factor is unlikely to be any better even with the addition £3K and more for a new one.
