MARLIN .22 RIM FIRE UNDER LEVER RIFLE.

Model 39A Marlin Golden Boy .22 Rim Fire Under Lever Rifle with original spec. 24” (610mm) Semi Heavy Barrel, now threaded ½” UNF, ready to take a sound moderator as and when required. The original open /iron sights are still in place and the action has also been fitted with a standard width dovetail, ready to take mounts and a scope of your choice. The well figured stock supplies a compact 13” (342mm) pull length and retains the makers original embossed plastic butt plate and grip cap. Overall the rifle comes in at 40 3/8” (1027mm) and a weight of 6 Lbs 5 oz (2.85 Kg).

The tubular magazine is a ‘Marmite’ feature that people either love or hate but there IS one thing about them that cannot be denied or belittled and that is they are just about impossible to lose, even on the wildest shooting trip!

Serial numbers beginning with a ‘U’ puts a date of production circa 1960 Sept. – 61 and given that now makes this rifle fast approaching 60 years old. Given that the action is still in remarkable condition with nothing other that a slick, swagger free operation and still silky smooth. Fast approaching a collectors piece this could warrant a refinish if you wish. The original blueing finish to the barrel is all but gone and is, what is these days termed, beautiful patina. Personally I would simply accept and use it as it is, a very nice ‘honest’ rifle with wear way below average in fairness to its age. Even the original Gold Wash to the trigger is still good.
