ABSOLUTE GEM of a vintage rifle from Tikka.
For something potentially 60 years old this is in near PRISTINE condition.
The same action as their 55 version only longer to accommodate the longer calibre case. This rifle is in near to perfect condition with full original spec. Iron sights still in place as well as the original full steel detachable magazine …. (DON’T LOOSE IT ! )
22” (560mm) ‘ BOFORS BARREL STEEL’ Original barrel. Stamped to the right hand of the barrel with calibre .270 and ‘by Tikkakoski A6’ to the left etc. Still retaining the open sights, all intact and fully functional.
Do a little research (if you don’t know) but these are seriously sought after rifles ….ESPECIALLY in this condition. 14 ¼” (363mm) trigger pull length to the Well Figured and decorative Maple Walnut Stock. Overall the rifle finishes at 43” (1093mm) and weight of 7 Lbs 13 oz (3.536 Kg).
At the time considered to be one of the best and slickest actions available and still in demand to day in their own right or to use the action for a rebuild. Fitted with a detachable magazine this particular example is Very Nicely Hand Engraved. Depicting an image of a ‘Royal’ Twelve Point Red Deer Stag with a ‘P’ set between the antlers. Both are set on top of a Scrolling Banner with the three letters of MAR.
This COULD be an old ‘Estate’ Rifle from the rather famous MAR Lodge. Or simply have belonged to someone called Michael Archie Richards (OR similar) and been their ‘Pride and Joy’.
