27 ¾” (705mm) Heavy Weight Bench Rest Target Quality Barrel. The CORRECT Left-Handed Stock with Roll Over Cheek Rest offers a trigger pull at 13 ½” (343mm). That to the shortest point in the concave Butt Plate. As per the images, this HAS been reduced in length at some stage. Very possibly to allow a Petite female or even a youth to shoot and enjoy. THANKFULLY the original portion of completely matching stock kept and now back in place. Along with a pair of original spacers. It IS also re-worked and finished to match all lines and contours with no sign of any step or ridge. Depending on the width of a saw blade used that can be quite significant. Overall, the rifle measures at 43 5/16 (1100mm) and tips scales bare at 11 Lb 10 oz (5.3 Kg). CERTAINLY, zero chance of ANY muzzle flip, jump or movement from the ammunition.
The Forend fitted with the usual Flush Inlet Target Accessory inverted ‘T’ rail. Ready to accept a bench rest style Bi-pod, Hand Stop, Sling Point etc.
Yes, the rifle DOES have a few MINOR blemishes, but nothing much considering its age. The bulk to the For-end. However, these rifles do offer up one of the easiest possible strip, prepare and re-finish projects possible. No Checkering or Textured Grip areas to worry about. Original Varnish that also cleans off relatively easily with basic tools / scrapers etc.
For anyone wanting to mount a rifle scope that is not too much of a job either. 4” (100mm) or so of inch (25mm) angle iron and two holes to match the action centres. Aluminium works perfectly. Then a flat-bottomed Standard Dovetail or Picatinny Rail drilled and tapped to the top. Then simply pick matching rings to accept whatever scope of choice and all done.
As with most rifles of this type / use / era, I have no doubt still Incredibly Accurate. Very Probably still more than capable of out shooting most pulling the trigger.
