Original / Older Newhaven Model 94 Winchester Underlever Rifle in .30-30 calibre. As such, DEER LEGAL with the correct ammunition here in the UK. Certainly, for anything up to and including Roe. ANYONE out there wanting to get back to the REAL challenges of actually STALKING their quarry? This warrants serious consideration. ESPECIALLY considering it currently has no scope mount screw holes to the action. As such, ‘right the way back’ to traditional open / iron sights!

Or simply use it on a range and enjoy that challenge equally as much. Back to a time when SKILL and marksmanship played a part. NOT simply winding up the magnification on scopes that are WAY too powerful. That is NOT a true ‘Rifleman’.

Anyway, back to the gun. 19 7/8” (505mm) Barrel set to a Stock pull of 13 5/8” (345mm). Overall a straight 38” (965mm) and tips the scales bare at 6 lb 4 ¼ oz (2.843 Kg).

This is fully stamped up and Highlighted in White to the left chamber / barrel side as follows. WINCHESTER with a circled R (for Trademark) Model 94, .30-30 WIN. Made in New Haven, Conn, USA. Winchester Proof Steel. To the right-hand side, B, C, and 5 inside a three-way segmented circle. .30 WIN 2.055”. 25GRs Cordite. 170 Grs Bullet. One below the other and finished off with Proof Stamps of a Crown and BNP.

As said, an older / original USA made example with zero Chequer pattern to the American Walnut woodwork. Also, NO pre-drilled and tapped holes to the action to accept scope mounts. They CAN be done but if you want that perhaps go for a newer example with scope mount holes already. (Just a thought, as it seems something of a shame to ‘damage’ this original.

The Stock itself has a relatively tightly packed Strong Straight Grain Pattern.  A sling stud point to the butt and a Magazine Tube Clamp on version for the front.

Complete and Fully Functioning Original Iron / Open sights, so ready to go after any minor adjustments to suit you.

Pretty CLEAR the rifle has done little to date. The EASIEST way to tell by far is to LOOK at the loading gate / door. Even more so on these rifles as it IS the ONLY way to ‘feed’ ammunition in and use. With other brands you do have the option of mag tube loading. As such, EASY to not put so much as a light mark on the door. With this you don’t. Consequently, it never takes long or many rounds before the factory finish is well worn away etc. As said, look at this and decide for yourself. Safety is inbuilt to the hammer. Simply set it to ¼ cocked position and done. The trigger will not engage or fire and zero pressure on the cartridge case.
