19 7/8” (505mm) BARLEY TWIST Barrel, set to a Stock Pull of 14” (355mm). Together they bring in an overall length of 39 3/8” (a Straight 1000mm). The bare rifle tipping scales at ½ oz over 7 Lb (3.190 Kg).
This is a single owner rifle from being purchased Brand New. The original Invoice is available if wanted (and assuming I remember where I put it)! The owner doing light ‘recreational’ stalking and nothing more. Take a look at the metalwork, especially the Bolt and Low-Profile Butter Knife Cocking Handle. It is plain (and EASY) to see how little use to date. The Engine Turned / Jewelled Pattern Finish with Minimal signs of wear or use. Features like this never take much before giving away such detail.
These are Fully Adjustable and CAN be set up out of operation leaving just a standard trigger. However, my advice is not to. Once people start using one, their accuracy down range improves, often dramatically. Yes, it takes some practice but results often leave you asking WHY you avoided one for so long. The other thing that ‘scares’ most is not knowing how to return it to a standard trigger.
Thankfully the Original Open / Iron Sights are still in place and no facility for a sound moderator. As such, something of a rarity these days. PERFECT for anyone looking for a little nostalgic / traditional hunting. Wanting to go back to a time when stalking SKILL, Knowledge and Prowess counted. Demand for Stutzen Rifles IS growing and quite Strongly. Given they are also few and far between, especially in condition like this, DON’T hang around.
Vertical Stack Detachable Magazine. Raised Cheek Rest (but mounts equally well to the other shoulder). Top Tang Mounted Safety so again, EASY to operate for Left or Right-Handed use. The only real ‘damage’ to detail is some rub marks from a rifle sling. Just to the rear of the front sling stud. Plus, a couple of Light, minor ‘dings’ to the L/H For End Chequer. Otherwise generally Excellent, especially factoring in the age this will be. The stock finished off with its Rosewood Tip and Original Steyr Logo ¾” (19mm) Recoil Pad.
