LINCOLN 12G OVER AND UNDER SHOTGUN.
12G Over and Under, Boxlock, Single Selective Trigger, Multi-Choke, Ejector Lincoln Shotgun.
A bit of a mouthful but a LOT of gun for the money.
27 ½” (700mm) Multi-choke barrels with a set of 4 included. Cylinder, ¼, ½ and Full. Sporting format ½” (12mm) Machined Cross Cut Ventilated Top Rib and matching vented sides. Help with keeping the barrels cooler longer as well as faster. Standard 2 ¾” (70mm) Chambers.
14 ¼” (363mm) Stock with a slight Right Handed Cast but not that far. It will very likely shoot from either shoulder. A Good Strong Straight Grain through the grip with some Very Reasonable ‘Wave’ Pattern showing too. Chequering still clean and well defined.
A Bright Finished Action finished with a nice Border Line surrounding General Scroll work. Manual Safety so set up as a Sporter, ideal for clays and / or live quarry. The top lever is still away to the right when the action is closed. A CLEAR indicator the gun has, as yet, not seen that much use. It never takes long for everything to settle in and centre up.
Overall the gun tips in at 7 Lbs 10 ½ oz (3.473 Kg) with a total length at 44 ¾” (1137mm).
As said, a lot of gun for not a lot of money and very well made for what they are. Ideal ‘first gun’ that can easily end up being the only gun needed.

THE STEEL SHOT DEBACLE?
FIRST THING: Given lead is SO dangerous, can we ask about getting every lead water main replaced? After all, ANYONE with one of those still supplying water has zero choice. LETS PUT THAT QUESTION TO HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE AS WELL AS THE GOVERNMENT.
That is every child’s grazed knee washed out with lead infested water (direct into their blood stream. Every glass of juice. Every cup of tea or coffee, Vegetables washed and cooked in the stuff. ALL that DELICIOUS Gravy. Cloths washed in it. Then we bath in the sodding lead infested stuff!
HOW DO THEY DEFEND THIS FACT?
THEN THERE ARE more and more Non-Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern-day shooting. IF it’s so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters, how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?

YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
