STEYR MANNLICHER SCHOENAUER .243 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
This is yet another stunning example of a TRULY CLASSIC bolt action rifle in the ever popular .243 calibre. The front action band FULLY stamped up to read ‘MADE IN AUSTRIA. Original Mannlicher Schoenauer Mod. MC. KAL .243’. A Swing Off front scope ring fitting is set above the chamber area. The rear base screwed to the left hand rear of the action. Fully windage adjustable and currently fitted with a SUPERB K KAHLES WIEN HELIA 39S2. 3-9X42 ADJUSTABLE Magnification Scope. It has a 4 way Duplex Reticle. (In the first focal plane, so grows / shrinks as the magnification changes). THIS IS INCLUDED in the price
A WELL FIGURED 14 ¼” stock, including the ¾” recoil pad this is as pretty examples I have seen. Chequering is still almost as new too. The bolt bright finished bolt makes a nice contrast to the more usual blued. It also houses the usual ‘flag’ safety to the back end. This also comes with a second tang mounted shotgun style slide catch. Very handy for both right or left handed shots. The stock is fitted with a raised cheek piece to accommodate the right handed rifleman. It also comes up to the left shoulder just as easy. Either mount brings the eye into perfect position for a shot from either side.
I actually shoot one of these in .275 and it is a DELIGHT. I have yet to find a better built rifle for engineering, design, quality and general ‘feel’.
These rifles are becoming harder and harder to find in any condition let alone as clean as this. They are also getting more and more expensive to buy even IF you can find one. The rotary magazine found on these rifles offer flawless feed. A quick unload button allows any cartridges to pop out of the magazine. Or remove it completely by depressing a small catch and rotating the floor plate. A fully adjustable double ‘set or hair’ trigger to use as intended or as a standard single. Set triggers DO offer some good advantages. However you MUST get to know how and when best to use them.
