OLDER Steyr Mannlicher Daimler Puch Bolt Action Rifle in .243 calibre. I MAY CONSIDER SPLITTING THIS APART FOR SPARES. HOWEVER, if I do please bear in mind this will not be the ‘cheap’ option. Whatever I may be left with means more adverts for me to do plus keeping whatever remains on site. Taking up valuable space. As such I would much prefer whoever simply buys the rifle as is. Anyway, we can discuss that as and when anyone does need a bolt / stock / trigger / parts etc.

DO BEAR IN MIND AND CHECK IMAGES: This IS a PUCH MODEL L rifle so more modern Steyr Mannlicher are NOT compatible. Check the magazine detach method plus length etc. THIS releases with a twin point lever pivoting on the trigger guard. Newer versions have a twin spring catch to each side of the MAGAZINE itself AND a longer magazine.

All that said IF you do have the same rifle in need of parts THIS IS YOUR GOLD MINE. These are now hard enough to find like this. Spares anywhere, even from manufacturer are NONE EXISTENT.

Also, while it works out ODD here in the UK the ‘L’ designation IS for the standard / shorter length actions in either models. ‘M’ Actions ARE for longer chambered and magnum length calibres.

For clarity this is stamped as follows: Steyr – Daimler – Puch. A.G. Steyr Mannlicher. Model L to the left side of the action. For ANY spares to work yours must be detailed exactly the same. Even the two main action screws are different spacing.

HOWEVER, lets see if we cannot simply sell it as. It’s a GREAT little rifle with plenty of shooting left in it. Yes, as above, IF you ever need spares you WILL struggle. Equally, EXACTLY the same applies to MANY pre-used guns out there, so in no better or worse position.

All original 22” (560mm) Barley Twist Barrel as usual. 14 5/8” (373mm) Trigger Pull, together bringing in an overall length at 41” (1040mm). Scales trip at 6 Lbs 12 oz (3.05 Kg). Generally Great Condition all over. Its pretty obvious the gun has not been used to any great degree considering the age this will be.

Twin Set Trigger which generally tends to improve accuracy no end. ALL ANYONE has to do is SIMPLY LEARN how to put the mechanism back to safe. At some point animals will move and a chance disappear. On This Rifle its STUPIDLY EASY: Put the side positioned SAFE BACK into the SAFE / NONE FIRE position and then GENTLY squeeze the Front Standard Trigger. I say gently to minimise any noise from the then ‘set’ trigger clicking back into stand by position. With minimal dexterity its an easy enough job to simply move the front trigger slowly and silently back.

The Stock features a strong Straight grain right through the Grip and Forend. Raised Cheek Piece and some pattern to the Right side. Skip or Fox Cut Chequering which always adds that little something for me. Cocking indicator located to the rear of the bolt too.

This is  CHEAP HIGH Quality Rifle that will see its next owner a lifetime of shooting with minimal effort.
