.303 British Short Magazine Lee Enfield SMLE Bolt Action Military Service Rifle dating back over 110 years to 1913 production. Action Strap Correctly Stamped with The Kings Crown above ENFIELD and 1913.
25 1/4” (640mm) Barrel set to a Stock Pull length at 13 ½” (345mm). Tipping the scales Bare at 9 Lbs and ½ oz (4.1 Kg) and an overall 44 5/8” (1133mm) long.
Now, the right hand of the actions front ring still retains the original Serial number. However at some stage in this rifles existence somewhere someone has seen fit to ‘add’! Added just above the original S/N details is W.R. 14850. This also appears to the left hand side of the action and again above the Crown to the action band. ???? Thorough if nothing else! Anyone with ACCURATE information as to who or why then happy to be educated. DO, by all means, get in touch.
Magazine Cut Off still in place and Fully Operational too. Original Open / Iron ‘V’ Battle Sights in place and graduated from 200 out to 2000 Yards. Standard detachable 10 round Magazine (it COULD benefit from re-blueing but IS function fine so perhaps not). The usual Brass Butt Plate with built in hinged door allowing access to pull though and oil bottle storage. I will have a replacement bottle if required so DO remember to ask.
Generally tidy enough. Considering its 110 years old and counting. Surviving TWO World Wars too then I might well upgrade that to GREAT Condition considering.
