SAUER 30-06 MODEL 90 SELECT STUTZEN BOLT ACTION RIFLE.

30-06 Model 90 Select Bolt Action Sauer Full Stock Stutzen rifle. 20”(510mm) Barrel with Original Adjustable Open / Iron sights. As always the Deepest Lustrous Blue to it and the action. 14 ¼” (362mm) pull FULL LENGTH Stutzen stock. This has a Tight Straight Grain pattern with Decent contrast so should be about as Strong as you can get. It appears to have an after-market Kick-Eze 1 ¼” (32mm) Solid Black Recoil Pad. Given the calibre it will, no doubt, help with recoil. Well fitted regardless and brings in an overall length of 40 7/8” (1038mm). Bare Rifle weight tips in at a Decent 7 Lbs 14 ½ oz (3.592 Kg). A GOOD weight for a Stutzen rifle but as said quite a hard hitting calibre so it all helps.

A black finished Single Set or Hair trigger. Pretty sure these can be set up to operate perfectly well on a standard set up but WHY? ALL you need to do is learn how to disengage the ‘set’ the odd time a shot disappears. Do that and these triggers tend to improve accuracy for any shooter a LOT.

Chequering is still Clean and Crisp but there are a couple of blemishes to note on the stock. One small ‘ding’ to R/H side just to the rear of grip area half way up / down. Another scratch to the left just to the front of the magazine area. A little bit of a shame but given these are far from new rifles it is still in generally remarkable condition.

OK. …A ‘STUTZEN’!… WOW!

BEFORE you knock them get out and TRY one. You might well be surprised at just how easy these rifles always seem to come to the shoulder perfectly. It’s also remarkable how they seem to go straight to target. Anyone who has or still uses one WILL tend to agree. The ‘modern day’ infatuation with sound moderators does admittedly limit any use in many situations. For anyone ‘old school’ this IS a BEAUTIFUL ‘Tool’.

ALSO: Its not that difficult a job to lose a bit of the forend and turn the rifle into a standard 3/4 length stock example.
