A CLASSIC British rifle from this ICONIC British maker in an even more Classic calibre. RARE too as very few were supplied with Detachable Magazine.
Deluxe 1200C Bolt Action Rifle with Barrel Fully Stamped PARKER HALE ‘SAFARI’ 7 X 57. Basically the exact same round as that Rigby Favourite .275. One is the Imperial designation and the other Mainland Europen Metric. I assume a relatively late example given the ‘SAFARI’ stamp detail as this is not that common a feature.
23 ½” (597mm) Original Open Sighted Barrel set to a Stock / Trigger Pull of 14 3/8” (365mm). Overall the gun finishes at 44 5/8” (1135mm) and tips scales at a bare weight of 7 Lbs 9 ¼ oz. (3.449 Kg).
This is a RARE Detachable Magazine example, denoted by the ‘C’ after the 1200 model number. As such the highest standard grade Rifle available from this Iconic British Gun Maker.
MUCH sought after being few and far between and ESPECIALLY in as sweet a calibre as this. Not fired the calibre yet but always fancied doing so then here is an easy and inexpensive way to fulfil that dream. If you agree you may well want to upgrade to something different. By all means bring this one back and part exchange it against the next.
A few minor blemishes to the Deep Coloured Walnut Stock. Nothing that bad considering how long the rifle has been around. Rosewood Grip and Forend Tips with some GOOD Grain Pattern and Contrast. The rifle has done little since brand new. CLEARLY evident by the level of Gold Wash still in place on the trigger. Its almost brand new and that DOES NOT last long once a rifle sees much use at all. In reality the rest of the gun matches other than those few minor small marks.
I sell a LOT of these older rifles. People are generally surprised to find they ARE still as or even more accurate than something brand new today. Grab a piece of CLASSIC British Gun making history in an equally CLASSIC calibre. I shoot .275 myself and as soon as you send the first round down range you will understand why. (Unless you enjoy feeling like you get kicked by a mule each time you squeeze a trigger). If so you do not want this!
