PARKER HALE .308 BOLT ACTION SCOUT RIFLE.
Bolt Action ‘SCOUT’ Rifle from Parker Hale in the EVER popular calibre of .308 Winchester. (7.62×51 Nato as close as need be).
You never see these for long enough and I now have two on the shelf in as many months.
Built as the name would suggest as a ‘Mid-Position’ Rifle. Something between a standard Sporting version and the Tactical / Target ranges of the 1200 TX or the M84 / M85 etc. To take out on a ‘scouting expedition’. Something that bit lighter makes covering ground that bit easier and faster while still having excellent longer range capability.
19” (483mm) Semi Heavy Weight un-sighted barrel. Screw cut and fitted with a VERY neat, well-designed Muzzle break. That adds a minimal 7/8” (22mm).
All neatly fitted to a Brown Laminated Stock with a long pull length of 14 7/8” (353mm). That still brings the rifle in just shy of 41” (1040mm) total and a weight of 8 Lbs 4 ½ oz (3.75 Kg). Detachable 10 Round Vertical Staggered Stack Magazine included.
This is best described as Generally IMMACULATE (given the age it will now be). A couple of very minor blemishes to the stock but I have seen worse on brand new guns still sat on the shelf. BUT the bolt has obviously been stored away from the rifle or been put away damp / with blood splatter? Purely cosmetic but there are discolouration patches to the original bright finish. They will not affect the rifle itself in any way but is just a shame given condition of the rest.
