More than clean enough example of a No4 Mk1 Long Branch Action Lee Enfield Service Rifle in .303 British. It would appear to have a completely re-furbished action as almost zero detail stamped to the Left Flat Side. What is showing is very feint. Good eyes and lighting is needed to see the serial number and what is left of other markings.
25 ¼” (640mm) Barrel set to a stock pull of 13 3/8” (340mm). Together bring in an overall length at 44 ½” (1130mm) tipping scales at 8 Lbs 12 ½ oz. (3.985 Kg).
TWO Groove Rifling in EXCELLENT condition considering the vintage etc.
Woodwork is all Very Clean and Tidy throughout with some excellent ¼ cut grain pattern highlights to the Forend Wood. Especially for Beech. Ribbed Rear Top Wood with the Butt Stock is some form of Mahogany. Given parts were produced from every part of the Common Wealth and elsewhere this is not uncommon.
Standard detachable 10 round magazine. The action pre-drilled and tapped ready to take a suitable front base mount along with the standard matching rear option. The gun is pictured with correct Target / Dioptre sight. If you want an original military oil bottle to keep in the stock then ask when you buy the rifle.
An original Flip Up Ladder / Battle sight is and option as are scope mount and rings if required. Simply discuss options with me and happy to try and sort out whatever best suits you.
