Model 389 Lakelander Bolt Action Rifle in .243 Calibre produced in Scandinavia. These rifles are always WELL sought after. This example is of Danish origin as it has a Three Lugged Bolt. (Not too sure if Kongsberg do not factor in somewhere in the history. IF they do its another plus to the ‘pedigree’ as these rifles also have a great reputation).
The barrel measures to 23″ (585mm). Threaded ½” UNF. It comes with a quality thread protector too. Overall the gun finishes at 43 1/4” (1100mm) and weighs 7Lbs 11oz (3.49Kg) bare. The action comes with Weaver / Picatiny Scope Rail machined into the top. It is pre-drilled too so will accept other bases if you prefer. The integral magazine is based on the Old, ‘delightfully’ designed and engineered Steyr Schoenauer Rotary type. These have a quick unload button facility too.
The Nicely Figured stock features some Tiger Stripe Highlighting to enhance things along with a Raised Roll Over Cheek Rest. Fox or Skip Cut Chequering and Rosewood Forend Tip and Grip cap. (With a small round Logo Emblem badge let in). The trigger pull is actually VERY nice as it is but will, no doubt, be fully adjustable to suit.
Personally I do like these rifles. You CAN actually appreciate the design, build quality and finish without much effort or experience. It WILL make anyone a fine rifle.
