Description

BSA SCORPION .22 (5.5mm) BREAK BARREL AIR PISTOL.

Vintage and Collectable .22 (5.5mm) Calibre Break Barrel BSA Scorpion Air Pistol. OK, not the cleanest example but it IS an example and still works perfectly well.

7 7/8” (200mm) Sighted Break Barrel with the pistol finishing an overall 15 ¾” (400mm) long.

At 3 Lbs 6 oz (1.53 Kg) this is no lightweight for an air pistol. As such it should convey just how well built these are. Rear Windage and Elevation Adjustable Open / V sight and NO scope rail dovetail. As such an earlier version. Apparently the none metal rear open sight then puts it into a later model of the earlier versions. If that makes sense!?

There is no serial number age / date of manufacturing table so slight guesswork as to an actual year of production.

Now, not actually sure if these were original paint finished or traditional Gun Blued. Its possible the older were paint and later examples Blued. This is painted Matt Black which IS showing signs of use / distress. In addition the safety ‘button’, positioned to the top / front right of trigger is also now missing. The actual arm / lever IS still in place and operates correctly, reverting to Safe each time the gun is cocked.

TESTED WITH RWS SUPERDOME 14.5gr.
AVERAGE FROM 12 WITH H (371) + L (360) DELETED GAVE 368.1FT/SEC.
AS SUCH CIRCA 4.3637 FT / LBS.
ON LINE REVIEWS / WRITE UPS GAVE UPTO 400 FT / SEC OUTPUT. AS SUCH GIVEN AGE PLUS IT WOULD BENEFIT FROM A NEW BREACH SEAL THIS WILL LIKELY DO EVEN CLOSER WITH THAT SIMPLE REPLACEMENT SEAL.

*** THE TRIGGER IS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT TO USE. CERTAINLY WAY BETTER THAN ANY AIR PISTOL (OTHER THAN £1000+ TARGET OPTIONS) i HAVE TRIED. This SHOULD certainly help with accuracy.
