Description

BSA .22 RIM FIRE PUMP ACTION RIFLE.

EXTREMELY RARE example of a ‘Patents Applied For’ Pump Action .22 Rim Fire Rifle from BSA. The Birmingham Small Arms Co.

Take a look at the serial number (288). I will put a few £££ down that there will be nothing else available out there. Not in as close a condition with any lower number or possible even close.

ALL FULLY ORIGINAL. 19 ½” (495mm) Step Down Un-threaded barrel. Retaining open sights with one fixed at 100 yards and Two Folding leaf options for longer shots / ranges. The action sports the usual BSA and Company Piled Arms Logo and Trade Mark to the left side. In addition both the barrel and action are each detailed with ‘Patents Applied For’ along with full name and address set between. Detailed as .220 Long Rifle.

This is in FANTASTIC condition given its age. I have never seen another quite like this. The stock comes with a LONG Straight Hand Grip stock with trigger pull of 14 ¾” (374mm). That brings in an O/A length of 37 3/8” (963mm) and a weight of only 4 Lbs 12 1/2oz. (2.169 Kg). It also appears to be a ‘Take Down’ rifle though I will have to check and confirm.

As said, AN EXTREMELY RARE AND VERY EARLY EXAMPLE of this Classic little rifle. CERTAINLY a Collectors piece and very possibly belongs in a Museum.
