12G Over and Under Box Lock Single Trigger Medallist Shotgun from Browning. 29 ¾” (755mm) Multi Choke Barrels with standard 2 ¾” (70mm) Chambers. Fully Ventilated side and 3/8” (10mm) Rib, file cut with a double sight bead. Single selective Trigger so easily swapped over to whichever barrel to shoot first. The action is Bright Finished and Fully Engraved with Scroll work decoration throughout. I do have a set of after-market chokes but they are ever so slightly long so do not finish perfectly flush. Its NOT much though and its not a 5 figure gun.
14 ¾” (375mm) WELL Figured Maple Walnut Stock… Certainly one of the prettiest I have seen on one of these guns with some Very nice Grain and Contrast. I suspect this may well be an older gun / early example given the obviously higher grade timber to normal you usually see. Not a great deal of cast so could well shoot from either shoulder. Overall length measures to 47 ½” (1205mm) with a weight of 7 Lbs 11 oz. (3.394 Kg). Even the Gold Washed Trigger still has a fare amount of colour so the gun simply cannot have seen that much use. It never takes that long for this area to show signs of wear. The Classic Schnabel Forend just finishes things off on what is a nice gun.
These were actually made for Browning under license in Italy. Never actually ‘branded’ as a Browning so they could cater for a less affluent section of the market place but still a basic Browning regardless. There is a LOT of gun here for this money.
