Description

BREDA 12G SEMI-AUTOMATIC 3” MAGNUM SHOTGUN.

Italian made 12g Semi-Automatic 2 plus 1 Shotgun from Breda. In their day everyone’s favourite Wild Fowl and Rough Shooting Gun and with GOOD reason.

Not yet had one of the 2020-2021 930i or Titano models in hand or stripped apart. They LOOK to be very similar in action design. If they are made to the same SUPERBLY HIGH Standard then WELL DONE Breda for bucking the trend these days. Given the cost of new (take a look for yourself at circa £1500 and up) I would sincerely hope they are.

Take one of these old guns apart to SEE the Build quality and just how Well Designed they are. Almost on par with the old Browning Auto Five….which says a LOT.

Similarly these can also be set up to cycle light and heavy loads. (Provided the correct friction rings are still in place etc.).

I generally carry a couple of these guns in stock for spares. S0 no need to worry there either.

GUN DETAILS:

As said this is a 3” (75mm) Magnum Chambered example so a LONG way from common even when brand new. Finding them today is not an easy task. Multi-Choked 26 ½” (722mm) bare length barrel with a ¼ (6mm) Ventilated rib. This is pictured with a ¾ restricted example which adds approx. 2” (50mm) to the barrel length. All of these guns come with a choice of one choke in whatever option you prefer. (As long as I have one available). I CAN also supply additional single or complete sets brand new at additional costs.

A WELL Patterned Stock with some good figuring to the 14” (355mm) pull stock and Forend. The latter with some Cross Grain Tiger Stripe too. Overall length 48 ¾” (1238mm). Weight is a Solid 8 Lbs 4 oz (3.737 Kg), help absorb those heavier magnum loads.

Another great feature on these older guns is the simple push out and swap over safety. Turn it into left handed operation in a few seconds. OK, the spent cases still throw out past your face. However being able to operate the gun properly and safely in your left handed is more than half way there.

THE STEEL SHOT DEBACLE?

FIRST THING:  Given lead is SO dangerous, can we ask about getting every lead water main replaced? After all, ANYONE with one of those still supplying water has zero choice. LETS PUT THAT QUESTION TO HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE AS WELL AS THE GOVERNMENT.
That is every child’s grazed knee washed out with lead infested water (direct into their blood stream. Every glass of juice. Every cup of tea or coffee, Vegetables washed and cooked in the stuff. ALL that DELICIOUS Gravy. Cloths washed in it. Then we bath in the sodding lead infested stuff!
HOW DO THEY DEFEND THIS FACT?
THEN THERE ARE more and more Non-Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern-day shooting. APPARENTLY so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters? How is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?
Anyway, take a look for yourself:
NOW, TRY and help speed up availability. I WILL suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ask whoever we buy from WHY they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.
YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through, but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons.                                                     RING for an update and keep checking the web site.
