Custom Built Target / Varmint weight .308 Bolt Action Rifle from Arthur Clarke. He made it onto Wikipedia so at least a man of some note!

This has been built on an original Kongsberg Sniper Action (so a GREAT foundation). That said it is no longer the usual matt finish and everything is matching number stamped, unlike the original. No real surprise though as it is a complete rebuild.
It comes with a 22” (558mm) unsighted Stainless Steel Barrel with Recessed Crown. That is stamped with what looks like ‘MADDCO 7.62 NATO’.
The action is detailed as .308 and still retains the original Kongsberg Serial number and Crown Cypher Stamp etc.
Heavy weight target stock with a pull length of 13 7/8” (352mm) including spacer/s and 1” (25mm) recoil pad. That is a Very Bonny piece of Walnut with a Highly Figured Grain Pattern and certainly grabs the eye.
A very tidy gun and little doubt it will certainly perform to a high standard….very possibly better than a lot who might squeeze the trigger!
