Model 1420 on a 64 Match Grade Action .22 Rimfire Bolt Action Anschutz.
These were / are the highest grade options available from their Sporting range of guns. As said, built on the same action and bolt as found on their lighter weight Match and Competition Target Rifles. The usual Factory machined scope rail standard dovetail to the top ready to accept mounts and scope. Safety is their Low Level ‘Two position’ Flag style. No, it does not interfere with a scope. It even features a cocking indicator to the back of the bolt.
Original and traditional ‘.22 LR or Long Rifle’ barrel. At its full length of 22 7/8” (580mm) and pre-threaded in standard ½” UNF, ready for a sound moderator. This has great potential for longer range accuracy, especially with modern day ammunition choices.
Away from the usual dark Walnut this stock is in Maple. Personally a feature I like. Fox or Skip cut chequering just adds that additional extra touch to set a gun off well too. Pull is 14 1/8” (358mm) giving an overall rifle length of 41 7/8” (1063mm). Scales tip in at 6 ½ Lbs dead (2.78 Kg).
OK, the blueing could do with renewing as there are a few lighter patches. However, this is just a GOOD ‘honest’ HIGH END Pre-used rifle that HAS seen good use. That SHOULD say something positive about it. It must be good to be used and cared for as it has. Perfectly good to use as it is for many years to come. Compared to cost new today there is certainly enough room to justify refurbishing this to as new if you wanted.
