BROWNING B25 A1 OVER AND UNDER 12G SHOTGUN.

12G Belgian Browning B25 A1 Over and Under Boxlock ejector Shotgun. Made in Browning’s Belgium CUSTOM SHOP WORKS where ALL of the high end Browning guns come from.

The barrels are stamped up: Browning Arms Co. St Louis. Missouri. Special Steel 12g 2 ¾” Chambers to one side. Val A Browning Patents No2 203 378 2 233 861 Made in Belgium, to the other.

I have to admit no great level of expertise as to the full and factually correct history of these guns. Anyone out there with ACTUAL information by all means drop a line. Happy to accept there are people out there with a lot more knowledge and know how!

The gun itself is still a VERY NICE example of these high end pieces.            28” (712mm) fixed choke barrels come with ¾ to the bottom barrel and Full to the top. A great choice for anyone who manages to get onto regular shooting at  the highest most challenging birds. At 6lbs 14oz (3.12Kg) this has a single selective trigger and manual safety. The black finished action has basic engraving. Sight rib is also fine, tapering from 6mm to 4mm with a single brass front sight bead to the muzzle.
A Rounded Prince of Wales Pistol grip stock has some very reasonable grain pattern. It measures up to a pull length at 14 ½” (370mm) including the ¾” (19mm) pad. The forend remains attached to these guns too. Release the latch and  everything slides forward, still attached.

GENERAL COMMENT.

The gun actually has very ‘slender proportions’ and handles exceptionally well. The best description I can offer is to liken it to a woman who is a size 6 or 8. Equate a ‘normal’ over and under shotgun to being a size 12 to 14! NOT meant in any particular way. ONLY to make it as easy as possible for anyone to get a better idea. As such it easily fits into my ‘bear like’ hands. It WILL also be of great interest to anyone of smaller proportions.  Very possibly suiting a lady / younger gun or anyone with smaller hands and grip. Basically anyone who might otherwise struggle with the usual options available.

FIRST THING:  Given lead is SO dangerous, can we ask about getting every lead water main replaced? After all, ANYONE with one of those still supplying water has zero choice. LETS PUT THAT QUESTION TO HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE AS WELL AS THE GOVERNMENT.
That is every child’s grazed knee washed out with lead infested water (direct into their blood stream. Every glass of juice. Every cup of tea or coffee, Vegetables washed and cooked in the stuff. ALL that DELICIOUS Gravy. Cloths washed in it. Then we bath in the sodding lead infested stuff!
HOW DO THEY DEFEND THIS FACT?
THEN THERE ARE more and more Non-Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern-day shooting. APPARENTLY so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters? How is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?
Anyway, take a look for yourself:
NOW, TRY and help speed up availability. I WILL suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ask whoever we buy from WHY they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.
YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through, but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
