20 5/8” (525MM) Barrel, Factory Screw Cut at a standard ½” x 20 UNF Thread. Ready to accept any one of the MANY sound moderators in stock and available too. Stock / Trigger Pull measures 13 1/8” (333mm) and combines for an Overall Length of 38 1/8” (968mm). Bare weight on this rifle tips scales at 5 Lb 10 ¾ oz (2570 Kg).
ALSO, what Winchester detail as their ‘HIGH GRADE’. The Action finish being a Matt Silver Grey Finish WITH PROFUSE BLACKED ENGRAVING to each side.
Years down the line and they have the potential to be worth WAY over the cost today. Don’t believe me and just take a look at the prices for vintage rifles today. Especially those with engraving. Yes, full bore versions but ONLY because there were no rim-fire options. Anyway, never buy a rifle as an investment. Do so to USE the thing and ENJOY it. If, as and when it turns out to be worth more than it initially cost that is just a VERY NICE bonus.
Safety is with the hammer set at circa 1/8th ‘cock’ position. As such, near impossible for undergrowth to find its way between the back of the firing pin and hammer face. Not that many will find themselves in such dense cover. However, easy enough if crawling through gaps in a hawthorn hedge etc.
HIGH-Capacity Tubular Magazine that is all but impossible to lose. Drop this into a swimming pool and still EASY to find. Unlike standard 5 or 10 round vertical stack options etc.
Traditional Windage and Elevation Adjustable Open / Iron Sights. Actually SUPERB ‘fun’ to use on paper and quarry with only a little practice. As things are, I am getting quite a lot of inquiries for traditionally sighted Full Bore rifles these days. Customers basically just sick and tired of great / stupid capacity and equally stupidly ‘blinged up’ scopes. Finally realizing any fool can shoot at almost anything at any distance with minimal skill or effort. They want to return to the days of TRUE field-craft, ‘sportsmanship’ and being a ‘RIFLEMAN’.
For those with eyesight no longer capable the action IS also factory machined with a top standard width dovetail. No ‘crime’ mounting something nice and compact on top to assist. Or, by all means, something with more capability that the calibre. YOUR Choice entirely. WAY more than enough options readily available in stock along with suitable rings. Happy to sort out whatever ‘floats your boat’!
