DE-COMMISSIONED LEE ENFIELD .303 No4 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
FULLY CURRENT EU / UK De-Commissioned Ex WWII British Army Lee Enfield No4 MK1 Long Branch .303 Bolt Action Rifle.
Only just back from Proof House with its new certificate after work to bring it up to current standards.
For those who don’t know (or claim they don’t) it is ILLEGAL to sell any De-commissioned firearm without this up-to-date certificate. It is also an offense to purchase any pre-current specification examples of ANY guns. Bear in mind Firearms Law is also what is termed ‘Absolute’. As such ‘I didn’t know’ is no defence. It is up to YOU to ensure you are within the Law!
Standard Specification Rifle date stamped for 1943. The usual 25 1/8” (640mm) Barrel with a 13” (330mm) Stock. They bring in a combined Overall Length of 44” (1115mm) and tip the scales at 8 Lb 14 oz. (4.030 Kg). Also included is an Original Military Webbing Sling.
As with so many of these rifles, woodwork was sourced from across the British Empire back then. This is a Prime Example. A Dark Mahogany Stock coupled with a Beech For-end Lower and Upper. That with some half decent Fleck Highlights you get from ‘¼ Cut’ timber.
A GREAT piece for any collector or Re-Enactor / Group etc. Equally, given its new certificate it is also readily available to ANYONE. Hang it on a wall for display even. At the time of listing I also have its counterpart in the form of a Matching WWII Portuguese 8mm Mauser. That too freshly returned from Proof with its own current / up to date paperwork.
