Description

BROWNING .22 SEMI AUTOMATIC GRADE VI 2004 IWA TRADE FARE SPECIAL.

BROWNING UK confirm this as an IWA Trade Fare Special Limited Edition Rifle dating back to 2004.
They also tell me there were ONLY 4 of these rifles allocated to the UK market place. As such A SERIOUSLY RARE and Highly Collectable Truly Classic Little Rim Fire Rifle from this GREAT Manufacturer.

This comes with a Grey Nitrite finish to the barrel and action which is also Custom Shop Engraved and Inlayed. Each action face has a Foliate pattern design which also adorns the top rear section. Set within this pattern is a Dog (more like a Wolf)  chasing a Rabbit to the Left Side. A Fox and Squirrel to the right. Then a Retriever Dogs Head and neck to the top. All highlighted and originally finished in ‘Gold’. After 15 plus years this is, as you might expect from a gun actually being used, wearing thin. However, the full design is still very nice and all there.

The barrel has been reduced to 16 ½” (420mm) and threaded ½” UNF. It also comes with the Weaver scope base rail pictured.

Pull length is 13 ¾” (350mm) and overall finishes at 34” (863mm) and 4 Lbs 12 ½ oz (2.171 Kg). They ARE however dismantled in under 5 seconds! Easily and discretely fitting into a small case or rucksack etc. for transport.

Cleaning and maintenance is RIDICULOUSLY easy too.  As said, the barrel is removed in a few seconds. The Action Slide takes no longer. You are left with the main action block holding a slide rod, firing pin and two springs. There are a few other small items. These generally stay in place unless you are doing a complete strip down. Everything goes back together just as easily too.

If you have not seen one do ask for a demo if you are visiting… Even if you have no intention of buying!

Also just about the only truly ambidextrous Semi-automatic rim fire rifle available I can think of. The ejection port at the bottom. As such, no empty cartridge shells hitting or flying across sideways. Straight in front of a left handed shooters face as usually happens. With an integral stock mounted tubular magazine its also just about impossible to lose. Unlike most other box type. Disengage the push rod and pull it back to a stop position. That allows loading through the port to the side of the stock. OR pull it out completely and feed new ammunition straight into the magazine tube.

Woodwork is as it should be on a Grade VI gun from this manufacturer and will be difficult to better. Yes, close to the price I have the new examples. But this IS a Grade VI in every way. Also, please don’t forget the new ones are actually £200 plus below what they should and would be. Especially had the Walnut been like this.
