Traditional ‘American Enfield’ P14 Bolt-Action Long-Range Target Rifle Conversion Originally from Winchester. Several companies produced and supplied these rifles to American Service Men during their part in WWII. Hence the affectionate name of an ‘American Enfield’. Back then they fired .303 British ammunition, so everything was standardized. However, once hostilities ended many ended up being converted, as this, to the then more modern 7.62 Nato. Predominantly sold to civilians for target shooting and practice etc. For those who do not know the W serial number pre-fix denotes Winchester production.
A Long 27 5/8″ (700mm) Heavy Weight Target Barrel, Complete with Fixed Position Front Target Element Holder. Stock pull measures 14″ (355mm) and brings in an overall length of 48 1/8″ (1220mm). WITH the Original Parker Hale Rear Target Dioptre Sight scales register a total weight of 10 Lb 14 ½ oz (4.945 Kg).
Often these rifles STILL hold their own, even in today’s environment of modern day ‘masterpieces’. Most costing 10x and more for little more than a modern-day look. I have several customers who enjoy nothing more than out shooting others who have spent several thousands of pounds!
This can leave as it is shown, with the John Wilks Precision Target Dioptre Sight INCLUDED. However, you will require an eye piece of choice. It is currently ready to accept a Gehman or Anschutz option. Or grab a thread adapter and choose from a vast array of original Parker Hale eye pieces. I have examples of all here so no problem. However, depending on which will add whatever cost that is. The more complex / options the more money they are. You can also choose a couple of front elements to finish it all off for free.
The For-end is also fitted with a flush inlet inverted ‘T’ Accessory Rail. I have a selection of those available too. The stock is as usual on these and a Simple, Light Colour Strong Straight Grain with inset Thumb Rest and Palm Swell. They were converted to a price so as to open up long range target shooting to just about anyone.
At this amount it works out to £7 per week for 2 weeks less than a year. For 2025 when listed that is less than half a packet of fags a week. Not much more than one less pint if you are out or a couple of cans at home! After the first 50 weeks your shooting is for nothing more than the cost of doing it. What else can you get at that value?
