1967 Production and EVER popular Match 54 Bolt Action .22 Rim-Fire Target Rifle from Anschutz, Germany. Anyone born that year and looking for a Birthday (or any other day) treat this will take some beating. With sensible use and care this could still be shooting a hundred years from now too. 

27” (685mm) Heavy Match Grade Target Barrel. Stock Features a Vertically Adjustable Butt Plate and currently measures to a trigger pull of 13 3/8” (340mm). This is adjustable as the Trigger Blade itself and mounted on a Travel Rail. Together they bring in an Overall length of 45 1/8” (1145mm). The bare rifle as pictured tipping scales at a SOLID 10 Lb 12 oz (4.88 kg).

The ‘Knife Blade’ Trigger is FULLY Adjustable Match Grade Quality, currently set with a Two Stage Release.

For-end with the usual Flush Inlet ‘Inverted ‘T’ Full Length Aluminium Accessory Rail to the bottom too. A Definite Right-Handed Stock with its Raised Roll Over Cheek Rest and Thumb Cut Away. Quite a Pretty Dark Walnut with some even Darker Grain Pattern contrast. Textured, Anti-Slip Grip Areas for a Positive and Consistent Mount and Hold. This even has two thumb rest positions to ensure the best possible Trigger Finger position too.

Yes, there are some light marks and blemishes, but for its age the gun is in pretty decent condition. It’s a more than fare example of one of THE Highest Quality Target Rifles EVER produced. These have been around for decades now consistently bringing in medals at highest-level competitions Worldwide. Still doing so and no doubt will continue to. A similar / equivalent option today? Work on a budget WELL of over £2000, possibly even half as much again.

It’s not THAT difficult a job to strip the original varnish finish, lift and sand out what blemishes are left. Then a re-finish with readily available kits. A few hours of effort, done well WILL give you a rifle (to my mind) even better than new. I do not particularly like a Varnish finish and a rifle. It NEVER lasts long and is EASILY damaged. When it is, it looks way worse than the same mark/s on Traditional oil finished woodwork.  Alternatively, there are now a few after-market readily available drop straight in stock options too.
