HOWA MODEL 1500 STAINLESS SPORTER .30-06 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
Hard wearing Stainless Steel Bolt Action .30-06 Calibre Howa Model 1500 Sporter Rifle currently in a standard Black Hogue Stock. 22” (560mm) Factory Screw Cut ½” x 20 UNF barrel ready to take a sound moderator of choice. PLENTY available new and pre-used so do ask if you need one. Stock pull measures to a straight 14” (355mm) but the after-market options are ridiculous. There are so many options you almost get a headache trying to pick one! Current overall length is 42 7/8” (1090) and weighs in at 7 lbs 7 oz (3.373 Kg) bare.
Hinged floor plate magazine but detachable options generally readily available and easily fitted.
This IS THE Favourite calibre on the other side of the Atlantic and for good reason. It is basically like a magnum .308 just not quite as versatile. However for longer range and larger quarry shooting the calibre takes some beating. Excellent terminal performance. As to the rifle itself Howa ARE simply Excellent Value Rifles. Extremely well made under Very Exacting Standards over in Japan where they do it RIGHT or don’t bother.
At one time I was apparently one of the biggest retailers of these rifles in the country. I am still to have anyone come back with a genuine complaint. For budget end rifles they are EXTREMELY difficult to beat. The after-market upgrades is EXTENSIVE to say the least. There are that many stocks its easy to get confused and never make a decission!
