TULA 12G OVER AND UNDER BOX LOCK EJECTOR SHOTGUN.

Russian 12g Box Lock Ejector Over and Under Shotgun from Tula. 28 5/16” (720mm) fixed choke barrels currently at Full and Extra Full restrictions. Great for those longer birds. Chambers a standard 2 ¾” (70mm). Stock pull length is 14 ¾” (375mm). Bringing in a total overall length of 45 1/8” (1147mm) and weight of 6 Lbs 14 oz (3.114 Kg).

¼” (7mm) Ventilated Rib now fitted with an after-market Green High Viz front sight bead.

The stock is a nice Straight Grain so Strong and functional with Raised Roll Over Cheek Piece. Length includes the 1” (25mm) Recoil pad as fitted.

These guns sport a two piece fore end separated vertically, hence the fixing screws as seen. There by design as opposed to mistake. The action sports some light scroll engraving detail and features built in cocking indicators too. Not a common feature on most guns of this style. Manual safety and double trigger operation. Actually a VERY handy feature I much prefer as it matches the Side by Side gun/s I would usually use. Manual safety which even has a small button to depress to move it. Basically a lot of small features that are a testament to the ACTUAL build quality. Closing the action almost feels as though it assisted too. It almost locks itself back up!

Sadly the original soldered front sling swivel point has been filed off but at least the base plate is still in place. A lot neater than a patch of silver solder.

This IS actually quite a stylish gun given consideration of its origin and era. That is not me saying Russians did not and do not have more than enough style and quality. Rather the usual things to find their way here to UK shores are generally more functional than anything else.

There is some light scroll engraving to the action sides just to finish things off.

Now, I did have another Russian Over and Under in not long ago which was a Vostock. If memory serves both guns may well have been made under the same company. This MAY WELL end up with the same customer but regardless of that I have the same question as last time. There is obviously a ‘knack’ to removing the barrels and it appears to be different to that of the Vostock. Anyone with the knowledge by all means call or drop a line. More than happy to take advice. Like last time I would much rather ask than try and force.
