Apparently one of the last Rifles ever built by Trevor Proctor. PLUS, in that Ever Classic .375 H&H Magnum Safari Calibre.
24 1/2″ (625mm) Traditional Open Sighted Barrel fitted with the equally expected ‘Big Game’ Barrel Band Rifle Sling point. The stock measures to a full 14 1/4″ (363mm) and brings in an overall rifle length of 45 1/2″ (1155mm). Scales show a bare weight as pictured of 8 Lb 11 oz (3.94 Kg). Not excessive by any stretch for such a Magnum round.
Hinged Magazine Floor Plate Engraved with .375 H&H in min 22 K Gold Inlay. Colour Hardened Rotary Style Safety mounted to the rear of the Bolt itself. As such, no need for high scope mounts if wanted. Barrel is currently fitted with a single leaf rear V / open sight. However, the base dovetail will take a replacement slide in multiple / additional folding leaf site options if required. The action is also pre-drilled and tapped ready to accept suitable scope bases and rings.
The original bluing to the Bolt Knob is beginning to slightly lose some lustre / colour. However, the EXCELLENT condition of the rest of the rifle would suggest this is from nothing more than ‘corrosive hands. By that I mean that some people can pick up a gun with bare hands and leave zero trace. Others, however, can set up rust spots with the slightest touch if not wiped down with an oiled cloth. Not detailed, most would probably not even notice. Other than that, the gun is near PRISTINE Condition. The bore did need a clean but that is also now done. As such it is now just as bright as the outside.
I may well take this out and test fire over the open sights. Just to see / try it for myself. THIS IS something to factor in for that ‘bucket list’ trip for Africa, North +/or South America as well as the Arctic. Then cherish for a while before letting it back onto the open market for the next LUCKY fella!
