THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?
Anyway, take a look for yourself:

NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.
YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons. RING for an update and keep checking the web site.
Miroku 12g Single Selective Trigger Over and Under Shotgun. Compact 26” (660mm) Fixed Choke barrels with 2 ¾” chambers. Chokes are stamped / detailed as ** and **-. With a brass choke gauge they are showing as a loose ¼ restriction to the bottom and a loose ½ in the top.
Serial number is pre letter date stamp detail but this appears to be what would become the modern MK38 Grade V / Grade 5. Bright finished and Fully Scroll Engraved Action with the tear drop feature to each stock face. You only get those on the higher grade guns regardless of age.
Stock pull is at 14 ½” (363mm) including the Original Miroku Branded Butt Plate. Overall the gun finished at 43 1/8” (1095mm) long and tips scales at 6 Lbs 15 oz (3.142 Kg).
Woodwork itself has a few light use marks but nothing worth specific detail. A strong Straight Grained Stock with some Good Colour Contrast.
As detailed, a Nice enough Compact shotgun. IDEAL for a pigeon hide etc. and just as at home on a game shoot. You point it in the right place when you pull the trigger. This WILL drop anything any longer barrelled gun will too.
FANTASTICALLY Well-made guns and certainly some of THE BEST ‘production’ guns in production. That applies to brand new today as well as those with a few miles on their clocks.
Looking at the Gold Washed Trigger it does still have some amount of original finish. Given the age this will be that is fair proof it has not seen masses of cartridges as yet. It WILL make someone a GREAT gun that is capable of being their first / one and only / last a lifetime and more. It is NOT a lot of money for what it is.
