FINE Example of The Best German Production Over and Under Ejector True Sidelock Action 12g Over and Under Merkel Shotguns. 28” (710mm) Barrels both with Full Choke restriction which should prove Great for truly Challenging High Birds. Stock has a 14 3/8” (365mm) Pull and together bring in an Overall length of 44 ¾” (1135mm). Scales show a Seriously Nicely weighted gun at a half ounce under a straight 7 Lbs Dead. (3.157 Kg). That’s a NICE gun to carry about all day long when compared to most Over and Under 12g shotguns. 2 ¾” (70mm) Chambers and NO, NOT Steel Shot Proof. HOWEVER, DO read the advert right through. You WILL find a nice surprise as far as lead free shooting is concerned.
The Original Blued finish in near factory condition throughout. A Solid ¼” (6mm) top Rib, Matt Finished with a Cross Cut Filed Pattern finished with a Single Brass Bead. Manual Safety as it is.
The Action is STILL THAT TIGHT its actually stiff to open! This WILL ease up and ‘seat in’ with a little use and the gun DOES need using. The Top Cross Action Lock up Bar still slightly protruding when the action snaps shut. Again, with some use soon after new this does settle in. Its just an obvious sign the gun has done neck end of nothing to date.
Strong, Straight Grain Stock with Raised Cheek Rest and Good Colour Contrast right through both sides. Definite Right Hand cast.
A PERFECT gun for any Discerning Shot. Especially if wanting Excellent Quality and something WELL away from the same old ‘same old’. Excellent Value considering what these guns run to brand new too. Check out for yourself just how much Brand new WOULD set you back. At the same time it should also be telling you just what level of Quality these guns Genuinely ARE.
THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?
Anyway, take a look for yourself:

NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.
YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons. RING for an update and keep checking the web site.
