ROF – Royal Ordnance Factory .303 Lee Enfield No4 MK 1 / 2 Bolt Action Rifle. The Action ‘double detailed’ with the cleanest / newest showing No4 MK1 / 2 (F) FTR. Then ISO EC 260 . 88A below. Even the Magazine has its matching serial number and DOES appear original with matching stamp detail. The Bolt itself, along with the Action Strap are also the same. However, ZERO date stamp showing at all.
More to the rear (of the Actions Flat side and lighter): No4 MK1 ROF F 7/43 is showing. As such, at some point in its history the gun has been there.
Otherwise, standard specification throughout. 25 ¼” (640mm) Barrel. Stock pull measures to a straight 14” (355mm). Overall length is 45” (1143mm) and scales offer a weight as pictured of 9 Lb 5 oz (4.219 Kg).
What appears to be Beech Woodwork with some Very Nice ¼ Cut Highlights. The usual Brass Butt Plate with built in, hinged trap door access storage hole. Ready to take an Original bore Cleaning Pull Through and Oil Bottle. I may have one or both so do remember to ask. Happy to throw either or the two in with the rifle (provided I have some).
The rifle DOES need a Rear Sight. However, there are a variety of options available. Single fixed peep hole through to various Flip Up Military Ladder style options. Even they range from the simplest through to relatively well detailed. Even a Full Target Dioptre. Basically, just whatever suites your requirements and budget.
